Giving Options - A Variety of Way to Make a Difference

Compassion offers a variety of ways to make your donations.  They are not only convenient for you, but beneficial to your sponsored child.  Choosing one of the options below will eliminate the need to write a monthly cheque.  It will also decrease the administrative costs associated with this method of payment, allowing us to send a greater amount of money to help your sponsored child.  Don’t wait!  Choose one of the options below and experience the freedom of giving… no stamps attached!

Pre-authorized Bank Withdrawal  + Expand

Your monthly donation can be automatically withdrawn from your bank account on the 5th or 15th of each month.

Call us toll-free at 1.800.563.5437 (Mon—Fri 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST) to inform us that you would like to arrange for pre-authorized bank withdrawals.  Make sure you have your transit number, bank code, and account number ready to provide (these numbers appear at the bottom of your cheques). 

This payment option will remain in effect until notice to end this agreement is given to Compassion Canada or your bank.  In the event that a discrepancy in the transferred amount exists, please contact Compassion Canada directly for amendment.

Pre-authorized Credit Card Payment  + Expand

Your monthly donation can be automatically charged to your credit card on the 25th of each month.

Call us toll-free at 1.800.563.5437 (Mon—Fri 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST) to inform us that you would like to arrange for pre-authorized credit card withdrawals.  Make sure you have your credit card number ready to provide.

Please note: If we are unable to withdraw funds on the 25th of the month, we will try again within the next five business days.  Please ensure that you inform Compassion Canada of the new expiry date of your credit card when necessary.  Transactions cannot be processed without this information once a credit card expires and this information can only be provided by the cardholder.

If there are discrepancies in the amount debited to your credit card, please contact Compassion Canada directly for correction.

Internet Banking  + Expand

If you prefer to do your banking online, Compassion Canada is able to receive your monthly donation via the Internet.  Presently, we work with Royal Bank, Scotiabank, TD Canada Trust, Bank of Montreal, CIBC, Canadian Western Bank, Citizens Bank and Credit Unions located in the provinces of British Columbia and Saskatchewan.

To make a donation using Internet banking, just follow these four easy steps:

  1. Log on to your financial institution’s Website.
  2. Follow the instructions to add Compassion to your list of payees.
  3. When asked for an account number, enter your sponsor number. (This seven- or eight-digit number appears on all your correspondence from Compassion. If you cannot locate it, e-mail or call us to find out.)
  4. Indicate the amount of your donation.

Please Note: Some Internet bank sites allow you to arrange automatic monthly withdrawals from your account. Others request that you log on to pay each month.

Phone Banking  + Expand

If you are set up for phone banking, why not add Compassion Canada to your preset transaction list?

To make a donation using phone banking, just follow these four easy steps:

  1. Contact your financial institution’s phone banking service.
  2. Add Compassion to your list of payees.
  3. When asked for an account number, give your sponsor number. (This seven- or eight-digit number appears on all your correspondence from Compassion. If you cannot locate it, e-mail or call us to find out.)
  4. Each month, make your donation to Compassion Canada.
