July 15, 2010 - Early this morning an apartment building caught fire and destroyed many homes in Sampaloc, Manila.

The homes of 19 Compassion-assisted children and 5 CSP mothers from one Compassion Church project have been completely destroyed. 

Compassion Canada will contact you if your sponsored child has been affected.

The affected families are staying in a nearby covered basketball court and abandoned building.  

The church partner is providing the affected families with food and other relief supplies.

Please thank God for protecting our children and families from injury or death during the fire. Pray for those who lost homes that God would provide for their needs.

Compassion Philippines will keep us updated as more information is available.
