Most of us can’t imagine what it would be like live without the basic necessities of life. But, children living in abject poverty don’t have to imagine. Proper nutrition. An education. Clean drinking water. A roof that doesn’t leak. They live with these issues—and dozens more—every single day.

When you choose to Respond with Compassion you help provide essential activities which enhance, improve and complement our programs, which cannot be met by sponsorship funds alone, such as: access to clean water and proper sanitation, disaster relief, emergency medical care and more!

How will you Respond?

Compassion’s Respond programs provide project activities which enhance, improve and complement our core programs. The following project funds are worthy avenues to contribute to the well being of children worldwide.

  • Urgent Needs - One million children. One million needs. Clean drinking water. Emergency healthcare. Proper nutrition. With a million children in our care, there are a million needs to meet. Every day, children live without the essentials of life and the critical care they need to survive. They are uncertain. They are desperate. They are afraid. Wtih your help, Compassion kids can trade uncertainty for confidence. Despair for joy. And fear for faith.
  • Health Response - A cold doesn’t have to be a life-or-death battle. The common cold. The flu. Chicken pox. For most kids, these issues and a host of others are easily treatable, and they’re back on their feet in a flash. But for children in developing countries, where minor health issues are compounded by serious threats like HIV/AIDS, malnutrition, and unsanitary conditions, even a cold can be a life-or-death battle.
  • Stability Response - Trading uncertainty for stability. To minimize the risk of dependency, we fund projects with low capital costs and high Stability is crucial to creating a sense of security in a child’s life. Without a safe home, a secure household income—or even clean drinking water—it’s almost impossible for a child to throw off the lies of poverty and lead a life of promise, purpose and hope.
  • Education Response - Training future leaders to transform their world. It’s easy to take education for granted, especially when it’s so accessible. But, for most Compassion kids, education is not a right—it’s a gift. Even with the access to education provided through the sponsorship program, there’s still so much more that can be done—but, books, testing, supplies and workshops all require more than a child living in desperate poverty can afford.

  • Highly Vulnerable Children - Protecting those who need it most. Losing one or both parents is devastating for any child—but for children living in extreme poverty, this loss leaves them at their most vulnerable. Without protection, without love, and without hope. With your help, the unprotected will be given the protection they need. The homeless are given a home. And the hopeless are given hope.

Compassion's Respond programs are not covered by sponsored children's monthly support. Funds are raised separately through donations from people like you to help communities find solutions to the challenges they face and improve their quality of life.
