| July 12 | The East India Country Management Team continues to closely monitor the situation in East India since Cyclone Aila. Families have temporarily repaired their damaged homes using plastic and tarps. A Compassion proposal through our CIV (Complementary Interventions) program is being put together to request funding for rebuilding. Please pray for all those who lost homes or belongings in the cyclone in East India. Pray that God would provide for their needs and give our staff wisdom as they address the huge need. |
| July 13 | Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. Bolivia, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Honduras are a few of the countries still affected by the H1N1 Virus. Pray for the government and health ministry leaders, and our Compassion family as they manage this situation in their countries. |
| July 14 | Psalm 5:11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. On June 25, Typhoon Nangka hit several areas in the Philippines including Samar, in the central part of the country, causing the entire province to lose electric power. We are grateful to God for his protection for our children and their families. Ask God to provide for those whose homes or belonging were damaged. |
| July 15 | Psalm 103:6 The LORD works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. Honduras, one of Latin America’s poorest countries has recently experienced a military coup. Pray for this situation to be resolved without bloodshed. Pray that the impact of this political situation on youth and children would be for good and not for harm. |
| July 16 | Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Please pray for Compassion's Leadership Development Program (LDP) around the world, that many more youth in Compassion's program will be empowered to dream, hope and become all that God has created them to be. |
| July 17 | Ephesians 6:10-12 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Pray for our Compassion church partners in communities where there is persecution and challenges; pray that they would stand firm and constant in prayer. |
| July 18 | 1 Peter 5:10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. We pray for the encouragement and strengthening of our Compassion Mexico staff who work on the frontlines with children at risk. |
