Desktop Technician

Compassion Canada, an international child development agency located in London Ontario, is seeking an individual to join the Information Technology (IT) Department to provide a single point of contact for end-users to receive support and maintenance within Compassion Canada’s desktop computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all PC hardware and peripherals to ensure optimal workstation performance.

Job Description: Desktop Technician

This candidate should have a degree and/or diploma in a computer related field with two years experience in the corporate or charitable sectors, good communication skills and the ability to enforce Compassion standards related to IT policies and procedures.

Working Knowledge of:

  • MS Windows/MS Office
  • Linux & MAC operating systems
  • Various types of Hardware/software

The following skills would be considered an asset:

  • Two years desktop support experience in the corporate or charitable sectors
  • Ability to install, diagnose, repair, maintain and upgrade all PC hardware and peripherals
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written (ability to present IT concepts in user-friendly language
  • Excellent planning, organizational and analytical skills
  • Honesty and integrity – ability to be discreet and confidential
