Compassion takes stewardship seriously.

Over the last few years, in Canada, non-profit organizations have been under greater scrutiny from watchdog agencies. Increased public awareness has led donors to research in greater depth the institutions they support. In response to public pressure, accountability standards have become more stringent.

Financial and ethical integrity has always stood at the very core of all Compassion Canada's practices. In fact, we hold membership in the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy. This organization is well known for the high standards it applies to all aspects of non-profit operations. We also hold membership in the Canadian Council of Christian Charities. This shows how highly we value accountability to our sponsors and donors.

At Compassion Canada, a minimum of 80 per cent of all expenses are used on ministry activities, and less than 20 per cent on fundraising and administrative costs.
