What We Do

View a larger version of the Child Development Model.

Compassion’s child development approach is holistic, serving the spiritual, economic, social, and physical needs of a child. We accomplish this through our Child Development through Sponsorship Program. Our approach is augmented by our secondary initiatives – the Child Survival, Leadership Development, and Complementary Interventions programs.

Child Development through Sponsorship Program

Compassion’s Child Development through Sponsorship Program aims to disciple, equip and enable children living in desperate poverty to develop into responsible and fulfilled Christian adults through a one-to-one relationship with a sponsor who provides for their core needs – spiritually, economically, socially and physically. More

Child Survival Program

Compassion’s Child Survival Program provides education for mothers or primary caregivers to ensure that children survive the early years. They are taught critical child development skills and how to administer them when children are most vulnerable to disease and malnutrition. More

Leadership Development Program

Compassion’s Leadership Development Program identifies outstanding graduates of the Child Development through Sponsorship Program and provides them with the opportunity to attend university and receive Christian leadership training, so they are equipped to serve and bring hope for the future to their impoverished communities and nations. Beyond Sponsorship

Compassion’s Beyond Sponsorship initiatives house our Complementary Interventions Program. Such programs provide essential activities which enhance, improve and complement our core programs, and which cannot be met by sponsorship funds alone, such as: access to clean water and proper sanitation, disaster relief, emergency medical care and more! more
