    NEW.

A new year. A new start. A new opportunity.

What makes the start of a year so appealing? There is something about a fresh, unmarked calendar that offers us possibilities and opportunities missed the year before. It compels us to dream a little, to think about what we want the days ahead to look like.

Jesus said in John 13:34-35: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Jesus offered us a new way of looking at what was most important and how to show the world who He is. As volunteers, what does this year hold for you? What’s something new you want to do? How do you want to reflect His love this year? (If you are willing to share any thoughts with us, we’d love to hear from you – send us an email.)

At Compassion, it is a season of growth and change, including the succession of Allison Alley to role of President and CEO later in the year. Our mission, anchored in these words, “releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name,” will have new leadership, new growth and new initiatives.

As we pray for you – our grassroots team across Canada – would you pray for us as we commit to staying faithful to this mission?

Looking forward to the new year ahead with all of you!
