Your checklist for events

If you’re helping at a Compassion event, this list will help you prepare for your role as a spokesperson and volunteer for Compassion’s ministry.

    • Pray for each concert or event of which you are a part. Pray that the Lord of the harvest will work in a wonderful way and that the audience will be blessed.
    • Stay sharp – review the details of Compassion’s programs in your training guide.
    • Dress appropriately for the event and wear your Compassion lanyard. Bring a bottle of water – you’ll be doing a lot of talking.
    • Plan to be at the event by the designated time.
    • Be at the Compassion booth or table from the time the doors open until 15 minutes after the event starts, or until everyone is inside. Do not leave the table unattended.
    • Review a child pack form to ensure you understand how to complete it.
    • While at the table, be available to answer questions, hand out information and encourage individuals or groups to sponsor a child
    • If you are unsure of the answer to a question, be honest and see if a Compassion Representative is available. Or you can provide our office number and suggest they call our contact centre.
    • Do what you can to make the evening as effective and stress-free as possible for everyone involved.
    • Remember to give the artists space. Your role is to serve the artists and speakers as needed and help sign up new sponsors.
    • Do not put food or drinks on the Compassion table.
    • Have fun. Enjoy and praise God that His kingdom is being established around the world.
