Can I volunteer at Compassion?

May 30, 2018 11:39 am

Yes! There are several ways you can volunteer with Compassion. You can volunteer your time as a Compassion Child Advocate to join us at Christian events across the country and help us see more children sponsored. You can become a Compassion Prayer Partner. If you live in London, Ontario or the surrounding area, you can also volunteer your time at our head office, helping us process the hundreds of thousands of letters being sent to and from our sponsored children. What is Sharing Compassion?

November 28, 2017 11:17 am

Sharing Compassion is an opportunity for sponsors to share their story of sponsoring with Compassion with others so that more children can be released from poverty in Jesus’ name. It can happen anytime and anywhere. The purpose is to help bring the needs of children in poverty to the attention of caring Christians who could help them. We provide you with all the resources you need for a successful event, including an appropriate video to share and presentation ideas.

We appreciate your desire to help. Compassion projects are administered and run by a local church on the field. As a result the workers and volunteers are recruited from within the indigenous Christian community. This enables the church to build upon their relationships with the children, their families and the wider communities. Local staff is ideal in that they speak the local language and share the culture of the community. However, there are many mission organizations that do offer short-term mission opportunities.
